Meet your instructors
Dr. Alan Turry, DA, MT-BC, LCAT is the Managing Director of the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy at New York University’s Steinhardt School, where he oversees administration, research, clinical services, and graduate and post-graduate training programs. An expert in clinical improvisation, he has led funded research on the effectiveness of music therapy for a variety of neurodiverse populations, including autistic individuals and stroke survivors. Dr. Turry has been instrumental in shaping Nordoff-Robbins practice and training both nationally and internationally.
Lorrie Kubicek, MT-BC is a board-certified music therapist and Program Manager for Expressive Therapies at Massachusetts General–Brigham Hospital. With over 20 years of professional medical music therapy experience—and 7 additional years in music and creative arts at Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for children with medical needs—Lorrie brings together traditional music therapy techniques, child development knowledge, and a healthy dose of clinical fun.
Kimberly Khare, MA, MT-BC is a board-certified music therapist and Nordoff-Robbins music therapist. For more than 25 years, she has worked in community-focused settings supporting children, families, teens, and young adults by designing and facilitating programming that fosters accessibility, creativity, and personal agency. Kimberly has also taught at Berklee College of Music for 20 years, helping emerging music therapists deepen their clinical musicianship.
