About the course

Picture this: You start a music therapy group with ten disabled students with high support needs in second through fifth grade. As you strum the first chords of the Hello song, you survey the room. One student is jumping off the back of the desk. One student is rocking and plugging their ears. One student is hiding under the table. And one student is trying to climb onto the guitar. As you finish singing Hello, you might wonder, "Where do I even begin?"

This course will give you resources and tools that you can implement right away that are realistic and accessible for all music therapists and music educators. This course features songs you know and love from Music for Kiddos, and then shows you how to add tools and resources to better support disabled students with high support needs.

After completing this course, you will have a foundational knowledge of what supports are needed, and come away with over 15 interventions to implement the next day. Come learn simple ways to adapt what you already know and are doing to support your students with high support needs in a group music therapy setting with a child-led approach.
